John Loutsch, 88, pioneer of Remsen vicinity, died Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nick Ruba.

He was born March 23, 1851 in Schuichertal, Luxembourg, Europe. He came to Iowa when a youth and to Remsen in 1879. He was a successful farmer for years before retiring to live in Remsen.

John married Susanna Hansen on November 23, 1880 in SS Peter & Paul Church in Sherrill, Iowa.
Susanna passed away 14 Oct 1919 at their home.

He is survived by his children who are Mrs. John Peter (Mary Susan) Schroeder, Mrs. William (Anna) Conrad, Mrs. John (Margaret) Ritz, Dominic, Mrs. Nicholas (Katherine) Ruba, John, Michael, Andrew, and Emil, all of Remsen.

The funeral will be held this Friday morning in St. Mary's church in Remsen.

Pall bearers will be six grandsons: Irvin Ruba, Elmer Loutsch, John Loutsch, Jr., John Ritz, Jr., Dominic Schroeder and Vernon Schroeder.

He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Loutsch Nov. 30, 1881 to Dec. 4, 1898 from Diptheria.
