Clarence R Lentz, 85, Biglerville R2, died Thursday evening at 7:45 p.m. at the Warner Hospital where he had been a patient since Wednesday.
A native and lifelong resident of Adams County, he was the son of the late Issac and Susan Shoemaker Lentz. He was a member of the Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, near Cashtown, and was engaged in farming most of his life. He also was employed for 10 years at the Gettysburg Furniture Company. He was a member of the local Fraternal Order of Eagles. His wife, the former Jennie Shuyler, died in 1950.
Surviving are seven children; Mrs. Martha Wood, 71 Stevens St.; Mrs. Anna Herring, Cashtown; Robert Lentz, Orrtanna R1; Mrs. Mary Rife, Camp Hill, Pa.; Mrs. Pauline Singley, and Paul Lentz, both of Aspers R1, and Mrs. Jean Fox, Cashtown; nine grandchildren and great grandchildren, seven brothers and sisters, Mrs. Francis Kane, Aspers R1; Mrs. Albert Stenger, Chambersburg; Mrs. Arthur Parr, Fayetteville R1; Mrs. James Rebert, McSherrystown; Mrs. Paul Martz, Cashtown; George Lentz, Williamsport, Md., and James, Fayetteville R2, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 from the Monahan Funeral Home, Carlisle St., with the Rev. Dr. S. Fred Christman, administrator of Quincy Orphanage, Quincy,Pa., and the Rev. Alfred Gobwalt, United Methodist pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Flohr's Cemetery.
