LAST RITES FOR MRS. H. BREWER ARE HELT HERE
Mary Ellen McCammon Brewer died suddenly at her home near Coffeeville, Miss., Yalobusha County Thursday, October 19, 1961. She was 77 years of age.
Funeral services were helt Sunday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. in Water Valley Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Paul Kiihnl and the Rev. Dorsey McCay. Burial was in Pilgram Rest Cemetery, near Coffeeville, Miss., Yalobusha County.
Active pallbearers were Creed Coker, Osburn Farris, Dalton Dorris, John M. Brewer, Jorris Vickery and Chester Shoemake. Honorary pallbearers were Roy Bennett, John Hyde Landreth, John Horan, Berkley Brewer, Pete Dorris, Dave Walters, Rufus Gray, Chester Patee, Walter Wolfe and Jess Summers.
Mrs. Brewer was born in Yalobusha County on July 7, 1884 and had lived most of her life in that County. She was a retired school teacher, who had taught in the state for more than 35 years. Her husband, the late Henry Brewer, had served as principal in various schools in this area prior to his death in 1952. Mrs. Brewer had attended the University of Mississippi, Blue Mountain College and Mississippi College. She was a member of the Church of God.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Brewer of Arlington, Virginia, and James Brewer of Coffeeville, Miss.; one daughter, Mrs. Carlos Bagley of Jackson, Miss.; four sisters, Mrs. Martha Cofer of Newton, Miss., Mrs. Sam henry Shepherd of Water Valley, Miss.; Mrs. Warner Shepherd of Eupora, Miss. and Miss Georgia McCammon of Jackson, Miss.; two brothers, Aaron and Harvey McCammon, both of Water Valley, Miss.; and four grandchildren.

She was proceded in death by her husband, Henry Harrison Brewer and a son Harvey Ellett Brewer
