Gerald A. Landherr, age 88, of Austin, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Sacred Heart Care Center.

Gerald was born April 10, 1923 in Nevada Township, Mower County, Minnesota to Fred and Anna (Heimer) Landherr. He graduated from Adams High School. He was drafted and served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Occupied Japan. Gerald retired from the Hormel Company in November 1980 after working there 32 years. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and V.F.W. Post #1216. He was an avid sports fan and supporter of the Johnsburg Johnnies baseball team and a lifelong Twins and Vikings fan. Gerald also enjoyed bowling and golfing.
Survivors include two brothers, Jerome (LaVonne) Landherr, Adams, Herbert Landherr, Adams; three sisters, Jane (LaVerne) Felten, Austin, Joan Landherr, Austin, Dorothy (Gerald) Gerber, Adams; nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Ann Howden; a brother, Donald Landherr.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Friday, April 22, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #91 and V.F.W. Post #1216.
