Settled in Porter in 1901. Father of 14 children. Played the violin, especially if his wife, Lulu was mad. On Christmas Eve, 1929 he was called out to work during a bad snow storm. While sweeping th etracks clear of snow, he struck and killed by train going to Chicago.
