Myrtle Anderson Dies Today at Hospital
Myrtle e. Anderson, 83, former teacher in Trinidad Public Schools for 20 years, died at 4:30 a.m. today at Mr. San Rafael hospital. Miss Anderson resided in an apartment in the Bell Block, city.
Miss anderson was born Aug. 26, 1874 in Dehlonega, Iowa. On graduation in the Iowa town, she taught school in the Dahlonega area for several years.
Later she came to Trinidad and helped her brother, William E. Anderson in his Business College in the years of 1894 and 1895, when the college was on West Main St.
In the fall of 1895 she joined the Trinidad public School system, and interrupted her teaching work when she attened University of Denver 1897 and 1898
Miis anderson completed further education in periods of time interspersed with her teaching assignment in Trinidad, After her 20 years in local school, she then went to Colorado Springs to teach.
During World War II, Miss Anderson taught school in Trinidad and at area schools, She retired from her profession in 1945
Survivors include two nephews, G.O. Newnam and C.E. Anderson, and a niece, Leola Anderson all of city. Sister-inplaw is Mrs. Stella Anderson also of Trinidad
