Prophetstown Woman Passes
Louisa Woodworth Dies at age of 80; Furneral Saturday
Prophetstwon, Nov. 26.
Mrs. Louisa Woodworth, 80 died in her home in this city yesterday morning following illness of ten weeks, during which time she was confined to her bed. She had been failing in health several years.
The body was taken to the Helm & Helm mortuary and will be returned to the home on East avenue Saturday morning, Funeral services will be held in the home at 2 Saturday afternoon, Services also will be conducted in Leon Methodist church at 2:30 and burial will be in Leon cemetery. The Rev. A.E. simester, pastor of the local Methodist church will officate. He will be assisted by the Rev. O.E. Link pastor of the Leon church.
Louisa anne Anderson, daughter of William and Elizabeth Anderson was born Nov. 15 1857, near Hooppole. When she was about 5 years old her parents moved to Denver, Colo. the family making the trip in a covered wagon.
The family later moved to Ottumwa, Ia, and Mrs. Woodworth taught school in that locality several years.
She was married to Edwin H. Woodworth of Leon community south of Prophetstown, on April 21 1885. they lived on a farm in Leon after their marriage, wich was only of ten years duration for Mr. Woodworth died on May 13, 1895
Mrs. Woodworth moved to Prophestown in December, 1914, and had lived in this city since.
She is survived by one son, Verne Woodworth who lives on the home farm in Leon community; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mabel Woodworth who during the last two years has lived in the aged woman's home and assisted in caring for her, and six granchildren
She also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Linda anderson of Berwyn, Ill., and Miss Myrtle Anderson of Trinidad, Colo., and two brother, Howard L. anderson of Trinidad, Colo., and Cecil R. Anderson of Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was preceded in death by one son. Ariel Edwin Woodworth, who died May 21 1919, two sisters, Mrs, Mary Newnam of Ottumwa, Ia, and Mrs. Grace Morris of Chicago, and three brothers, Aaron Anderson of Denver, Colo., John Anderson of Chicago and Will Anderson of Trinidad, Colo.
