Robert's first wife Della Hathcock died 31 Mar 1909, having his third child, Neely, a girl who fell out of a chair at 4 months of age and died two weeks later 8 Aug 1909. He already had two children, daughter Ethel, and son Hester Delores. Alice raised both of them along with their children.
This story told to me, Danny Jones, by my 1st cousin, Ruby Helen Jones - Pennington.
Robert's first wife Della Hathcock died 31 Mar 1909, having his third child, Neeley, a son. The accident happened while Neely was being cared for by a babysitter, a lady with a boy child of young age. Neeley was in a rocker chair of some kind and was being noisy, crying or something, and the lady sent her son into the room where Neely was to see if he could quiet the baby. The boy was jumping around and jumped on a rocker and flung the baby out and he hit his head on the floor. Neeley died from that accident.
