Earl was a very colorful character. Anyone who knew Earl understood that he was a man who knew and appreciated the value of hard work and thrift. He was well known in Chanute and surrounding area for his enterprising nature. Earl married Alice Mathews on Dec. 29, 1909 in Kansas City, MO. He apprenticed as a carpenter under the supervision of his father, John Calvin Heminger, and eventually moved on to the role of a building contractor and real estate developer.

He was a member of the Nazarene Church, and a member of Masonic Cedar Lodge #103 York Rite and the Mirza Shrine Temple.

Earl was survived by three nieces, Mrs. Roberta Jeanette Heminger DeBolt (Chanute, KS), Mrs. Oressa Lee Heminger Dooling (Coral Gables, FL) and Mrs. Vivian Heminger, (Shawnee, KS) and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted under the direction of Revs. Fred Cook and Robert Gaut with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Gibson-Koch Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
