Born in New Philadelphia, OH to John Calvin Heminger and Margaret Jane Wolfe Heminger, Mr. Heminger had resided in Chanute, Kansas as a youth, coming to Canton in 1888. In 1893 he was married in Canton to Miss Carrie Bachtel, who died four years ago. His only child, Mrs. Marguerite Emily (Heminger) Lytle passed away in 1938 after a long illness.
From 1895 to 1903 Mr. Heminger was a merchant policeman in Canton and then became a real estate agent. From 1907 to 1921 he was a township constable and the following seven years was a justice of peace. For six years before his retirement in 1934, he was in the real estate business.
He leaves two grandchildren, Charles Lytle of Niagara Falls, NY and Mrs. Dorothy (Lytle) Knapp of Homestead, PA, and six great grandchildren. Both his parents and one brother, John Wesley Heminger predeceased him. Two brothers Frank Emerson Heminger of Kansas City, KS and Earl Royster Heminger of Chanute, KS remain.
Services will be conducted in the Schneeberger funeral home Wednesday by Re. Calvin H. Wingert. The time will be announced later. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
