OBITUARY - BETSEY HOLMAN
Betsey Holman, nee Ulvestad, was born in the year 1846 in Norway. She came to American with her parents when four years old. They lived in Wisconsin for the next 16 years. They moved to Minnesota when she was 20 years old. She was united in marriage to C. Holman in 1886. Her husband preceded her to their home beyond, there are also three brothers and two sisters who have gone on before. Their married life was spent in Weyland (Whalan) southern Minnesota. She enjoyed good health up to the last. On Wednesday of last week, she was taken suddenly with a stroke, from which she did not recover. Two days later on Friday morning, May 28th, 1915, she died. She leaves to mourn her loss one brother and one sister, a large number of relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the home on Monday, May 31th and in the Scotch Church by Rev. O. Sandbach, Pastor of the M. E. Church, St. Charles. The body was laid to rest in the Scotch Cemetery.
