MARCUS ULLVESTAD
Marcus Ullvestad was stricken Aug. 14th with paralysis and from that time until his death on the 18th he remained unconscious. Deceased was born in Yttne Sogn, Norway, Aug. 11, 1837, and with his parents emigrated to America in 1850, settling in Dane county Wis. On July 11, 1861, he was married to Miss Johanna P. Linde and in 1863 moved his family to North Prairie where they have since resided. The fruits of this marriage were twelve children seven of them living and were present at his bedside except Mrs. Ostrum, of Ostrum P. O., N.D., Mr. Ullvestad was a progressive and upright farmer and at the time of his death owned 760 acres of land on North Prairie. The worry over the loss of his barns by lightning was no doubt the indirect cause of his death. He was held in high esteem by his neighbors as is evidenced by the fact that over 100 teams followed his remains to their last resting place.
