Mrs. Annie Neal Eastman, age 91, of Winston-Salem passed away on Friday, May 7, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Stokes County on November 23, 1918 to the late John Hardin and Ollie Matthews Neal. Mrs. Eastman served in the U.S. Nurses Corp in World War II and later did private duty nursing. She was a member of Fairview Moravian Church; attended Appalachian State University; and graduated from City Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Eastman is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Eastman Fearrington (William) of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Matt Fearrington (Jamie) and Sarah (Robert) MacReynolds; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Molly MacReynolds; one sister, Ailene Hicks of King; one sister-in-law, Martha Neal of Danbury; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends. Preceding in death are three brothers, Raymond Neal, Odell Neal and Alton Neal; and three sisters, Edna Forrest, Estelle Smith and Mary Brinkley. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Fairview Moravian Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Scott Venable officiating with Full Military Honors by King American Legion, Post 290. The family will receive friends following the Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crisis Control Ministry, 200 East 10th Street , Winston-Salem , NC , 27101.
