Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Ruth Turner Compton, 85, who died Thursday, April 6, 1995 at Paul B. Hall Medical Ceneter. Mrs. Compton was born January 30, 1910, in Johnson County, KY, the daughter of the late Ray Turner and Virgie Conley. Also preceding her in death were two sons, Jack and John Compton and one daughter, Belva Honeycutt. Surviving are one brother, Dr. J.W. Turner of Paintsville and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildred. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 9th at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Blair and Larry Smith officiating. Burial was in Richmond Cemtery at Paintsville.
