John F. Compton, 53, died Wednesday, January 26 at McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Mr. Compton was born March 1, 1936, in Johnson County, the son of Ruth Compton and the late Chester Compton.
He was an EMT for P &B Ambulance Service and was a member of the Protestant Church.
Surviving are his wife, Verda Hall Compton; one daughter, Sheila Adkins of Michigan; two stepdaughters, Rene and Leeann Ward, both of Hager Hill and one brother, Jack Compton of Gahana, OH.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 30 at Bryan Fraley & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Don Fraley officiating.
Burial was in Richmond Cemetery at Paintsville. Paintsville Herald, February 9, 1994
