Services for Elmer Theodore "Ted" Thorson, 46, of 1323 Elgin St., Space 42, Caldwell, who died Sunday in an automobile accident at Sun Valley, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell by the Rev. Tom Blackburn of the Garden City Christian Community Center. Interment will be in the Canyon Hill Cemetery.
He was born March 21, 1932 at Carr, Colo., to Helmer Theodore and Bertha Isabelle Rush Thorson. And in 1942 moved with his family to Caldwell, where he was reared and educated. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1949, later transferring into the Army. He served in the United States and France and was discharged Nov. 14, 1957. He married Joan Henderson Harrison on February 1961 at San Diego.
He drove trucks for 12 years for commercial carriers and went to work for the J. R. Simplot Co. in 1969. At the time of his death, he was trucking supervisor for that company.
Surviving are three step-sons, Charles M. and Thomas N., both of Caldwell, and Barry E. Harrison of Boise; his mother, Mrs. Bertha I. Thorson of Caldwell; three sisters, Mrs. Maxine Berg of Caldwell, Mrs. Blanche (Kenneth) Rowell of El Cajon, Calif., and Mrs. Grace (Eldon) Jones of Meridian; and two stepgrandsons; four nieces and 2 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Helmer T. Thorson and a brother Ben.
Memorials may be made to the Elks Rehabiliation Center, Boise.
