Memorial graveside services for Bertha Isabell Thorson, 90, of Boise who died Monday, May 24, 1993, at a Boise care center, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 28, 1993, at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell. Reverend Gary Allen of New Hope Christian Church, Meridian, will officiate. Private burial was under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Mrs. Thorson was born in Pryor, Oklahoma, Indian Territory, February 24, 1903, to James Wesley and Alice Elizabeth Freeman Rush. She married Helmer Theodore Thorson on December 15, 1921 in Boulder, Colorado. They had three daughters and two sons. They moved to Caldwell May 29, 1942. Her husband died November 15, 1951. She worked for Troy Laundry, Simplot Co., College of Idaho, and cleaned homes for several prominent Caldwell residents. She retired from C of I in 1965 and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Grace Jones of Meridian; grand-children, Ed Berg of Pierce, Idaho, Juanita Chrz of Boise, Idaho, Cheryl Van Atta of Santee, Calif., Randy Jones of Meridian, and Janice Smith of Boise; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; two half sister; one brother; a half brother; her daughters, Maxine Berg and Blanche Rowell; her sons, Ted Thorson and Ben Thorson; three graddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
