Helmer Theodore Thorson, 59, 309 Belmont Street, died on Highway 28 on McKenzie Pass near The Sisters, Ore., on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 15, 1951.
Helmer was born Jan. 3, 1892. in Henning, Minn. to Bjorn and Elizabeth Thorson and came to Idaho on May 29, 1942 from Ft. Collins, Colo. Prior to his residence in Colorado he made his home in North Dakota, Michigan and Wyoming. He married Bertha Isabelle Rush on Dec. 15, 1921 at Boulder, Colo. He was member of the Lutheran Church and a Veteran of World War I.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha, 309 Belmont; three daughters, Maxine Berg, Caldwell, Wanda Rowell, Springfield, Oregon and Grace Jones, Boise; a son, Elmer Theodore (Ted) Thorson, 309 Belmont; a brother Hiram, Notus; and four grandchildren. He was precede in death by a son, Ben; his parents; two brothers, Harry and Ben;four sisters, Elise Marie, Carrie O., Tallena and Anna. The Peckham-Dakan Chapel will conduct services for Thorson Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Carl Kinzler, pastor of the Caldwell Nazarene Church, will officiate and interment will be at Canyon Hill Cemetery.
