Myrtle E. Butz was born in Christman, Carbon County the daughter of Sadie F. (Dotter) Helmer of Jim Thrope and the late Frank E. Helmer. She died in the Sacred Heart Hospital at the age of 56. She was the wife of Raymond E. Butz who were married April 12, 1947 in Coplay, Lehigh Co PA.

Myrtle was a member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church in Allentown.
