Erma E. Schlegel of Catasauqua was born in Christmans, Carbon County, the daughter of the late Frank and Sadie (Dotter) Helmer. She died in Muhlenberg Hospital Center at the age of 80. She was the wife of Edward C. Schlegel II.
She and her husband were the owner and operators of Schlegel’s Dry Cleaners, Race Street, Catasauqua, for 24 years before retiring in 1975.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a charter member of the West Catasauqua Fire Company Auxiliary, St. Paul’s Senior Citizens Club and the former East Catasauqua Fire Company Auxiliary.
