Joseph Davis Melvin

Joseph Davis Melvin, 80, of 630 S. Santa Fe, died Saturday at his home of a heart attack. Mr. Melvin had been a veterinarian with the State Board of Health and was active in civic organizations. He was a member of the Isis Temple, Elks, Odd Fellows, Knife and Fork Club, Garden Club amd Begonia Society. He was also a member of the First Methodist Church.
A native of Washington, Iowa, he was born Mary 1, 1878 and had lived in Salina since 1941.
The funeral for Mr. Melvin will be at 2 pm on Tuesday (January 20) at the Chapel Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold Soulen will officiate. Masonic graveside services will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Vesta Melvin and a nephew, Lyle Melvin of 833 E. Jewell in Salina.
