Charles L. Melvin, 90, of 335 5th Street, died Tuesday pm at Asbury Hospital. Mr. Melvin was a retired railroad employee and had lived in Salina since 1924, coming here from Gypsum.
He was a member of the Ottawa, Kansas Methodist Church.
Surviving are three sons: John Melvin of Los Angeles, California; Claude Melvin of 628 S. 9th Streeet, and Lyle of 833 E. Jewell, two daughters: Mrs. Bernice Brown and Mrs. Elma Cook both of Topeka, Kansas; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday with burial being in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Gypsum, Kansas.
