A Tribute

Alvin McCrossen. who died August 27, would have been 79 years old in a few days. The minister, a friend of his for years, said although he had his eccentricities and peculiarities he was a man of God and lived very close to his Savior. He visited the sick, fed the hungry, loved his friends and little children, and even his enemies. He felt he was misunderstood by some, yet he lived as he prayed. The beautiful words of comfort from Isaiah the minister repeated: "To give unto those that mourn' beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness."

Springwater, Sept. 8.
