Frank H. Anderson dies at age 97, last
World War I veteran in Randolph area
Frank H. Anderson, 97, of Randolph, died at 9:20 p.m. in WCA Hospital, Jamestown.

Mr. Anderson was born Dec. 24, 1897, in Ellington, the son of James B. and Cora Ewing Anderson.

A graduate of Ellington high school and Michigan State University, he owned dairy farms in the Randolph, Conewango and Ellington areas and was a horse and cattle dealer. He was a veteran of World War I serving in the U.S. Army, a 76-year Charter member and last surviving World War I veteran of the Randolph American Legion Post 181, and a member and past Master of the Randolph Lodge 359 Free and Associated Masons. He was also a member of the Randolph United Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta I. Curtiss Anderson, whom he married Aug. 5, 1920, and who died May 9, 1990; a brother, Archie Anderson; and two sisters: Sada L. Anderson and Harriet Davis.

The funeral was held in the Van Rensselaer & Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Albert T.Stoddard, retired pastor, officiated.

Burial was in Randolph Cemetery, where the Randolph American Legion Post 181 held full military honors.

A Masonic memorial service was held Friday in the funeral home.
