Simon Boehnlein, 97, one of the oldest residents of the New Holstein area, died early this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital where he had been a patient for a week. Mr. Boehnlein, a retired farmer and Marytown shoe repairman, had been making his home with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klapperich, 2010 Illinois Ave., New Holstein. He was born in Marytown, Nov. 24, 1856, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Boehnlein Jr. He attended parochial school at Marytown and married the former Barbara Lotzer at Charlesburg, Feb. 21, 1882. Mr. Boehnlein was a member of the Holy Name Society at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein.
Surviving are a son, John A, West Allis; two daughters, Mrs. Nic (Pauline) Krebsbach, Marshfield, and Mrs. Klapperich (Alvina); five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; and one brother, Nic Boehnlein, Charlesburg.
