He was born in St. Joe (Fond du Lac County) Dec. 24, 1887, a son of the late Simon and Barbara Lutzer Boehnlein. He attended St. Joe schools, and owned and operated a cheese factory there.
On Jan. 27, 1914, he married Mary Blonien at St. Joe. She preceded him in death Jan. 17, 1982.
He was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church, Wauwatosa.
Survivors include two sons, Benjamin, of Wauwatosa, and Sylvester, of Tempe, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. C. J. (Laverne) Voith, of Universal City, Texas; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Burial was Wednesday in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, New Holstein, with the Rev. Ralph Hermsen, pastor, officiating.
