Vance Chamberlain was one of two known children born to Lyle Moroni Chamberlain (1901-1981) and Nancy (Blackburn) Chamberlain (1901-1968) on Feb 23, 1930 at Kanab, Kane Co., Utah. He had at least one known brother, Royce, b. May 10, 1928, who married Alene Gibson in 1952. They had six children, who are all living as of this date. Royce died in 1995 and is buried at Cedar City Cemetery. His wife is still living, to the best of my knowledge (She was b.March 9, 1933), and has not remarried. I cannot find any evidence that Vance ever married, at least within the state of Utah, or that he ever had any children wherein he is listed as the father, but there is always room for error. He was born in the last year that a U S Census was recorded by familysearch.org (1930) but neither a marriage license or a death certificate was on file. His grave marker at Orderville Cemetery, Orderville, Kane County, Utah, states that he died on Apr 1st, 1988, and that is the date I am using, although his "Ancestral File" gives his date of death as Apr 11th, 1988. I am giving more creadance to his headstone for proof of the date of Vance's death. Perhaps Apr 11th, 1988 is the date of his burial, although I find that to be doubtful as well, as that is just too long for him to remain unburied. One interesting item of note is that Vance is a grandson of Thomas Chamberlain, (1854-1912) who had 6 wives & at least 44 children, most likely more.
Vance's grandmother was Ellen Alvira (Carling) Chamberlain, (1863-1951). The information I have written about Vance Chamberlain is true and correct to the best of my knowledge, but, if there are any errors please advise me via the "edit" tab and I'll correct them. Thank you.
