Verona Chamberlain Talbot entered into rest on May 15, 2016 at the age of 83. Verona was born on January 23, 1933 in Orderville, Utah to Lyle and Nancy Chamberlain.

Verona learned self-sufficiency at a young age while growing up on a farm. She learned to sew her own clothes, make quilts, cook, churn butter, and bottle fruit. She also helped her dad and brothers with the farm chores such as plowing, planting and gathering the hay.

Verona married Ray Talbot on June 15, 1951 in the Manti, Utah Temple. After her marriage she attended Nursing school and earned her LPN degree. Verona and Ray moved around a bit while attending school and while Ray served in Korea but settled in Kaysville when Ray got a job at Hill Air Force Base. They raised their four daughters there, along with a foster daughter through the Indian placement program. Verona moved to North Ogden in 2012 after Ray’s passing.

As a young mother, she made a lot of her children’s clothes, grew a garden, and bottled fruit. She taught a 4-H group and used her nursing training to care for her family’s health and help others. She loved to cook, quilt, read and garden.

Verona was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the opportunity to serve others through the many callings that she held and participated in many humanitarian projects. When she could no longer make quilts herself, she donated a lot of her fabric to the Church’s humanitarian organization.

Verona is survived by her four daughters: Nancy (Keith) Aalbu, Linda (Chuck) Stephan, Deanne (Jeff) Russell, and Janell Talbot along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers, and her husband Ray.

Special thanks to the administration and CNA’s at Quail Meadow Assisted Living for all the help and love they showed to our mom and our family.
