Hazen M. Henley 1980 Bridgewater Bulletin

The death of Hazen M. Henley occurred at the Dawson Memorial Hospital early Saturday morning, July 12, 1980.

He was born at Chelsea September 28, 1893, the eldest son of the late Elijah and Mary Burton (Baker) Henley.

Although in failing health for a number of years, his death came as a shock to his many relatives and friends. He suffered much pain but always had a kind word and ready smile for those around him.

He will be sadly missed as a kind and loving husband and father.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Carrie (Fancy) Henley; six daughters, Ida (Mrs. Aubre Frail), Verda (Mrs. John Selig), South Brookfield; Elsie (Mrs. Victor Fancy), North Brookfield; Una (Mrs. Harold Aulenback), Chelsea; Beverly(Mrs. Fred Aulenback), Oromocto, N.B.; Joan (Mrs. Gerry LeMoal), Kamloops, B.C.; ten brothers, Harry, Kenneth, Nahum, Purl, George, Borden, Irving, Avon, Chelsea; Walter, Bridgewater; Edmund, Newtonville, Mass.; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Hazel (Herman), and one sister, Ida.

The largely attended funeral service was held on Monday, July 14, at 2 p.m. from Chelsea United Baptist Church.

With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
