Shreveport, LA--Graveside services with Military Honors for Major Charles Lane Arndt, Retired, Age 70, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at the Greenwood Cemetery on Stoner Ave.
Mr. Arndt died Wednesday, November 21, 2001 in Shreveport, LA. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa and had resided in Shreveport, LA since 1975. He was self-employed in real estate investment.
Mr. Arndt received a B.A. in Sociology from the State University of Iowa in 1954 and completed graduated courses in Industrial Management and Economic History at the Univeristy of Oklahoma. He completed real estate sales courses in 1977 at Louisiana State University. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association, Ark-La-Tex Antiques Collectors, and International Transactional Analysis Association.
Major Arndt retired from the USAF after serving as both Wing Air Weappons Officer and Nuclear Safety Officer with HQ. 2nd Bomb Wing, SAC at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. He also functioned as B-52 Radar Navigator with HQ Bomb Wing, 26th Bomb Squadron, Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Arndt of Shreveport, LA; sister-in-law, Kay Tate and husband Col. Les Tate of Akins, N.C.; dear friend, Col. Joe Hood of GA; caretaker, Tom Thomas, Clarice King and Jerry Wiliams.
