BAXTER Funeral services for Herbert Franklin Roberts, 67, of Silver Point will be held Thursday, May 8, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Smellage Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Roberts was dead on arrival at Cookeville General Hospital, Monday, May 5, 1997, following a logging accident.
A native of Putnam County, he was born October 6, 1929, to the late Daily and Pearl Kinnaird Roberts.
Before retiring, he worked in quality control at TRW.
His family includes his wife, Reba Faye Sullins Roberts of Silver Point; two sons and daughtersinlaw, Danny and Pam Roberts of Baxter and Jimmy and Barbara Roberts of Silver Point; one brother, Harvey Roberts of Silver Point; three sisters, Rubena Carr of Cleveland, TN, and Ira Bussell and Reba Abney, both of Baxter; four grandchildren, Christy, Jimmy Jr., Joseph and Heather Roberts; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ronald "Ronnie" Franklin Roberts; three brothers, Clavis, Eugene and Abe Roberts; and two sisters, Carrie Boyd and Winnie Palmer.
