William Korver, 89, or Sioux Center died Wednesday, June 27, at the Sioux Center Hospital Nursing Wing after a short illness.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with the Rev. Harold Lenters officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Korver was born March 20, 1901, in Alton where he lived his youth and attended country school. He married Matilda Muyskens February 12, 1925, at Alton. The couple lived in the Hospers, Alton and Le Mars area and retired in Sioux Center. She died January 20, 1990.

He was a lifelong member of the Reformed Church of America, serving as a deacon and elder and taught Sunday School and catechism for many years.

Survivors include four sons, Calvin of Alton, Dr. Arian of Sheldon, the Rev. Harold of Paramount, California, and Willard of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four daughters, Jeneva Hofmeyer of Sheldon, Harriet Brouwer of Teaneck, New Jersey, and Gladys Vander Berg and Arloa Te Stroete, both of Sioux Center; 35 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; a brother, Simon of Lynden, Washington; and two sisters, Martina Muilenberg and Mina Haverdink, both of Orange City.
