Funeral rites held Tuesday for Arthur 0. Korver
Arthur O. Korver, 47, Orange City carpenter and building contractor, passed away early Sundaymorning, April 14, at Grossman hospital, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 16, at the First Reformed church where Mr. Korver was a member. Dr. Henry Colenbrander conducted the services. Special music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Hans Vander Maaten.
Pallbearers were Peter Dean Vander Zwaag, Calvin Korver, Marvin Korver, Vernon Muilenburg, Howard Haverdink and Eugene Haverdink. Van Etten funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Arthur Korver was born March 29, 1910, on a farm northeast of Alton, the son of Martin Korver and Jennie Mouw Korver.
He married Winnie Kleinhesselink on January 28, 1937, and three children were born to this union. The family moved to Orange City in January 1916.
He is survived by his widow; three children, Muryl Jay, Lois Gail, and Audley Wayne, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Martin Korver; four brothers and two sisters, William Korver of Sioux Center, Henry Korver of Alton, (Martina) Mrs. Anthony Muilenburg and (Myna) Mrs. Gillis Haverdink, both of Orange City, Myron Korver of Alton, Simon Korver of Nooksack, Wash., and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers.
