Jacob Yost Clarke, 81, of 306 39th, died Friday, Jan. 21, 1977,at St. Benedict's Hospital.
He was born April 8, 1895 In Vesuvius,Va.,a son of William Henry and Nancy Preston Clarke.
On June 10, 1939, he married Ethel Thomson in Kaysville.
He was a retired conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad. He had lived in Florida and Virginia and Ogden since 1930.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.
Surviving are his widow of Ogden; one son, Jay Glenn Clarke, Ogden; three grandchildren; one brother, and two sisters, Lilburn Downey Clarke, Fairfield, Va.; Rebecca Clarke, Waynesboro, Va.; Vernie Ramsey, Waynesboro,Va.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters, Milton Henry and Daniel McKinley Clarke; Ella, Mazer, and Beatrice Clark.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel with Pastor Dwayne Thompson of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday prior to the services. Burial will be in the Washington Heights Memorial Park.
