Ethel E. Clarke
Ethel Emeline Clarke, 83, formerly of 306, 39th St. died Sunday, March 1, 1987 at a local nursing home of causes incident to age.
She was born Jan. 18, 1904 in Murray, Utah, a daughter of Andrew Joseph and Maryann Margaret Jones Thomson.
She married Jacob Yost Clarke on June 10, 1939, in Ogden. He died Jan. 21, 1977.
She had lived in Salt Lake City, moving to the Ogden area in 1925.
She was educated in the Salt Lake City schools and attended LDS Business College.
She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, and the U.P. Old Timers Auxillary.
She had worked at the Ben Lomond Hotel and at the Ogden Standard Examiner as a switchboard operator.
Surviving is one son, Jay Glenn Clarke, Clearfield; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother and one sister, Glenn Andrew Thomson, Ogden; Mrs.A. L.(Myrtle) Gutke, Hayward, Calif.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist & Sons Colonial Chapel in Ogden with Pastor Dwayne Thompson and Pastor Doug Cummings of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday fron 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment,Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.
