There is no marker for John's grave as the exact location of the cemetery is not known.

I suspect that his real name was John Walden Lynn, but he was known as the "Grand Boss". He was the patriarch of a very large family originally from South Carolina.

He came to Georgia about 1820 with his wife Nancy Dubberly, also from SC, and several of their young. Between 1815 and 1840 they raised over 13 children together. The exact number is not known.

Here are some of the children of the Boss and Nancy Dubberly:

William Lynn (1815- )
Dicey Lynn (1817- )
Josiah Joshua 'Joe' Lynn (1820-1897)
Rhoda Lynn Jarriel (1822-1884)
Sarah Ann Lynn (1823- )
John Lewis 'Bunk' Lynn (1824-1920)
Martha Jane Lynn Kicklighter (1828-1896)
Charity Lynn Love (1830- )
James Walden Lynn (1834-1856)
Andrew William Lynn (1836-1859)
Daniel Edward Lynn (1840-1857)

Boss married his 2nd wife, Nancy Coward, on 23 May 1841. Boss and Nancy Coward had the following children:

John Abel Coward 'Beaty' Lynn (1829- )
Daniel Christopher Coward Lynn (1838- )
*see explanation below

Lydia Lynn (1841- )
Dennis Lynn (1844-1910)
Mary Ann 'Polly' Lynn Anderson (1846- )
Hester Ann 'Hetty' Lynn (1848-1937)
Dempsey Jeremiah 'DJ' Lynn (1851-1917)

There are two 4yr gaps where children may have died at birth or shortly after. Boss fathered probably at least 20 children!

Boss was head of household in the 1870 Reidsville, Tattnall Co., GA Census, age 77 with 7 grand and great grandchildren and in the 1880 census age 87 w/ Hester A Lynn, Lydia Lynn & James P. Lynn. Thus his death was sometime after June 1880.

Tattnall County, Georgia, Loose Papers, Volume Two, 1846-1870 --

"2 April 1860 [Petition] John Lynn says he is the father of two illegitimate children named John Abel Coward and Daniel C. Coward and he recognizes them as his own. John Abel is 29 years old and born 5 November 1830 and Daniel Christopher is 22 years old and born 10 March 1838. Their mother is now the wife of John Lynn but at the birth of the children was Nancy Coward. John Lynn wants to make the children legitimate and to change their name to John Abel Lynn and Daniel Christopher Lynn."

Charles Wildes, in his book Once Upon a Time in Tattnall County, Georgia, states that both John "Boss" Lynn and Nancy (Coward) Lynn are buried in a family cemetery near their home, but that the cemetery had been destroyed.
