Arthur D. Clark, 52, of W. Michigan St., New Carlisle, dead at 1:50a.m. today in the Osteopathic Hospital, South Bend, after a short illness.
He was an artist and decorator.

He was born March 12, 1920 in New Carlisle and had lived there all his life.
Art was a member of the U.S. Army during World War ll, European Theater, serving as a Motor Transport Driver. In June of 1944, Art was chosen to be a back up driver for GENERAL D.D. EISENHOWER.

On March 15, 1947 in New Carlisle, he married Eunice Hugher who survives; also surviving is his mother, Glennie Clark Moffit on New Carlisle; three sons, Roger and Douglas both of New Carlisle, and Lowell, at home; a daughter, Gina at home; a grandchild; four brothers, John and Stewart both of New Carlisle, Rev. Dwight clark of Greeville, S.C., and Vernon of South Bend; four sisters, Mrs. Erma Campbell and Mrs. Jean Richards, both of South Bend, Mrs. Patricia VanEmmons of Centerville Mi., and Mrs. Phyllis Hensell of New Carlisle.

Art was a member of the Community Christian Church; Terre Coupee Lodge 204, F. & A.M.; and Post 204, the American Legion. The Legion will hold military rites at the grave.

Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery, New Carlisle, Indiana.
