Stuart L. Clark June 5, 1933 - Jan. 24, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Stuart Clark, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. Stuart was born on June 5, 1933 in New Carlisle, IN, to Aura and Glennie Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents, 9 siblings, his son, Matthew, and his granddaughter, Jackie Ewert. Following his graduation from New Carlisle High School, Stuart served in the Navy during the Korean War. On January 8, 1955 he married his high school sweetheart, Carrie Fetterer of Hudson Lake. Following his service in the Navy he went into the electrical trade of IBEW Local153. After becoming a journeyman, he served as an instructor in apprenticeship school for 20 years. He worked as an electrician in construction his entire career and retired in 1996. Later on, because of his experience, he developed a program entitled A MITT ASAP; a project management workshop, which taught new apprentices an organized way to approach daily work tasks. He taught this course even following his retirement. Stuart accepted Jesus as his Savior while in the Navy and was a member of Mayflower Baptist church for 27 years and served as a deacon, trustee, Sunday School teacher, Awana Commander, song leader, choir member, and soloist. In 1993 he joined Community Baptist Church and served in the choir and went on mission trips to Haiti and Romania, utilizing his construction skills. He is remembered as a man who showed Christ's love by always being willing to help others with the skills God gave him. Stuart is survived by his loving wife Carrie, his daughter Sandra with her husband Pastor Timothy Fink, missionaries in Romania, and his son Daniel with his wife Karen of Fishers, IN. He also is survived by his loving grandchildren, Andrew (Shari) Clark, Michael (Anna) Clark, Joshua (Annalisa) Fink, David Fink, Kaitlyn (Ben) Hoover, Nathan (Maggie) Fink, Kasey (Emily) Clark, Kailey Clark, Kaleb Clark, and Daniel Fink. He also enjoyed holding and playing with his 13 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Community Baptist Church, 5715 Miami Rd., South Bend, on Wed., January 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The Memorial Service will begin at noon following the visitation at the church. Internment will be at Olive Chapel Cemetery in New Carlisle. Memorials contributions in honor of Stuart may be made to Community Baptist Church, Miami St., South Bend. Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
