Raymond Beard, 68, 2304 W. 8th St., died at Ball Memorial Hospital Saturday afternoon following a long illness. He was born in Sullivan County and came to Muncie in 1928. He was employed at Delco-Remy 25 years prior to his retirement.
Mr. Beard served in the U.S. Army in World War I. He was a member of Delaware Lodge of Masons 46 and Scottish Rite, Indianapolis.
Surviving are his wife, Elma; three sons;
Services will be held at Meeks Mortuary at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Edith Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary afte 6 p.m. Sunday, after 2 p.m. Monday, and any time prior to the services Tuesday. Delaware Lodge will conduct memorial services at the mortuary at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
