Mrs. Elma V. Beard, 67, 2304 W. Eighth, widow of Raymond Beard, died today at Riverview Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Born in Terre Haute, she came to Muncie in 1928. She was employed for several years at the Muncie Evening Press. Mrs. Beard was a member of Hazelwood Christian Church, Royal Neighbors, and Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are three sons, Harold, John, and David, all of Muncie; two brothers, Richard McPherron, Wilmette, Ill., and Ralph McPherron, Terre Haute; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Robertson, Terre Haute, and Mrs. Edna Oliver, also of Terre Haute; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
