She was born August 2, 1914 in Beaver, Utah, daughter of Charles and Daisey Amanda Palmer Owen. Married Thorwald Noah "Curly" Christensen, April 23, 1930; he preceded her in death.
Lela lost two sons, Thorwald and Ray Christensen.
Survived by five children, Jesse and Betty Christensen; Donna and Dick Sollars; George and Donna Christensen; Don and Marilyn Christensen; and Robert Christensen; six siblings, George, Leo, Edna, Nina, Lucille and Rita; 29 beautiful grandchildren and over 30 great-grandchildren.
She touched every soul that came into her life. She loved and cherished her family so much and it was impossible for those around her to not know how much she loved them. She will be greatly missed! To Lela ~ a poem by her loving husband Bankrupt A great air bubble held my heart It burst - it scattered, fell apart You came and found me golden hours, and took a mortgage on my heart I do not grieve for those dreams And as for mortgage property, Since I can never pay the debt My heart is yours eternally! Graveside services will be held Friday, 1 p.m. at the Hinckley City Cemetery, Hinckley, Utah. Friends and family may call Thursday, 5-7 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday, 9-10 a.m.
