John Anderson Berg, born in Norway, was the third child of Andrew J. Berg and his wife Anna. He came to America in 1876 with his mother and three siblings. Raised in Bricelyn, MN, he would spend his adult married life in Superior, WI. I believe John used a W as a middle initial (he really was John A. Berg) because there was another John A. Berg where he lived.
John and Ella, whom he married in Superior, had 3 children. Tragically, they lost Olivia to measles. John, Ella, and E. Daniel all died within days of each other from coal gas poisoning in their own home. Their last child, Geneva lived to be 80 and her obit lists only a foster daughter, so there are no descendants from the John Berg line.
My Connection: John Berg was the brother of my great grandfather, Gunder Berg. Vicky King
