Rolph, Florence E. (Schiller) 90 of Montague, passed away Friday, December 10, 2004 in Muskegon. She was born November 15, 1914 in Claybanks Township, the daughter of Peter and Mary (Rager) Schiller. She married Ralph Rolph on November 15, 1934. He passed away April 9, 1971. Mrs. Rolph was raised in Claybanks. Upon her marriage, she lived west of New Era for seven years. The Rolphs lived in Claybanks from 1941 to 1971 on their fruit farm. Mrs. Rolph moved to White River Township upon her husband's death. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She was proud to have received her diploma from the Montague Adult Education Program at the age of 65. Mrs. Rolph is survived by her children, Max Rolph of Montague and Shirley (Jim) Burghduf of Montage; her sisters, Ruth (Kenneth) Chaney of North Muskegon and Mary Wood of Muskegon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Gertrude Rolph of New Era, sister-in-law, Bernice Lohman of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Simon, Edmond, Francis, Gabriel, Daniel, Raymond and Vincent Schiller; sisters, Stella Schiller and Alice Eilers; and great-granddaughter, Naleah Lohman. A Memorial Mass was held Monday, December 13, 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Montague with Father Thomas Schiller as Celebrant. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Montague. Memorials to either the Alzheimers Association or St. James Catholic Church Building Fund are appreciated. Arrangements by Harris Funeral Home, Shelby.
