Cora was a graduate of Davenport High School in 1904. Before her marriage, she was employed as a stenographer for six years at the Davenport Commercial Club. Cora married Fred Wooten on September 12, 1912 at her parents apartment. They had a nine course dinner for 50 people afterwards.

Cora had 2 known pregnancies, in May 1913 and May 1917. Both ended with birth and death on the same day. Cora had been ill since the spring 1917 birth, so she left with her mother to visit the Excelsior Springs in Missouri, known for their healing powers. She died within a few days of arriving. Official cause of death was "Nephritis from prior pregnancy".
