Grace graduated from Davenport High School in 1906. As stated in the newspaper article about her wedding, "The bride is a Davenport young woman of winsomeness and charm who has a wide circle of friends." She married George on May 15, 1912 in her parents' apartment at 218 1/3 Harrison Street. The ceremony and dinner included 50 relatives. George built a house for them at 2331 North Ripley Street.

They moved into her parent's home at 703 West Locust in 1918 after her mother died. Grace raised their 3 children and provided care for her aging father for a number of years until he died.

After their daughter Barbara graduated from high school in 1937, they moved to Portland, Oregon for better work opportunities in the lumber industry for George. Barbara and their younger son George accompanied them. Grace settle into their new life in Portland, but died from hereditary kidney disease 5 years later.
