Winter visitor, Emmit F. Geer, 88, of Albuquerque, NM, died February 28, 1995, at Yuma Regional Medical Center.
He had been a winter visitor to the Yuma and Wellton areas for 14 years.
Born February 26, 1907, in Jacksonville, FL, he was a brick layer for 41 years before retiring. He was a member of the brick layer's union and Siglo RV Club, both of Albuquerque.
Survivors include his wife, Effie D. of the home; son, Hunter of Albuquerque; daughter, Juanita Schaffer of League City, TX; stepsons Michael Cayton of Las Vegas and Jeffrey Cayton of Anchorage, Alaska; stepdaughters Jennifer Bear of Warren, OH, Sandra Moody of Georgetown, DE, Coleen Haspert of Cavalier, ND, Coreen Cayton of Memphis, TN, Sherry Haley of Walcott, IA and Lisa Boole of Rex, GA.
Other survivors include his brother Carl of Astor, FL; daughter-in-law Martha; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Otto.
Memorial services are pending. Private cremation arrangements are by Kammann Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to Wellton Community Presbyterian Church or New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch, Belen, NM, 87002 or charity of choice.
