Billie Bingham, 79, of Safford died Feb. 23, 2009. She was born to Levi A. John and Eliza Merrill John Aug. 5, 1929, in Safford.

Billie attended Safford schools, where she was very active in sports. She married George C. Bingham on May 19, 1947. Together, they enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. They also loved socializing with friends and family.

Billie was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Bingham; her parents; sister Marvel Faulkner of Fairlene Golding; and brothers Hugh John, Harold John and Paul John.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, George Bingham; and children Sheri (Chris) Ellsworth, DeAnn (Rick) Frazier and Steven (Mary) Bingham; 11 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Feb. 28, in the Safford Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
