George Bingham 80, of Safford passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009. George, born Sept. 2, 1928, was the son of Richard Bingham and Euphrasia Foote Bingham. George attended Safford schools, where he was very active in all sports. He was student body president during his senior year. On May 19, 1947, he married Billie May John, and they spent 61 years together. They enjoyed all outdoor sports. He worked with his father and eventually took over the business in 1948. In 1958, George also started Union Oil Distributing. George's loving wife, Billie passed away February 23, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy; his parents; a sister, Geneva, and brothers, Grant, Clifford and Norman. He is survived by his children Sheri (Chris) Ellsworth, DeAnn (Rick) Frazier and Steven (Mary) Bingham; 11 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services were held Saturday, March 21 at the Safford LDS Stake Center. Arrangements were under the direction of the Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
