Ruby Boyd
Ruby Blackwell Boyd, 86, of Riceville, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at her residence.
A native of Polk County, she was a longtime resident of McMinn County and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. A daughter of the late Lee and Minnie Slack Blackwell, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Junior Boyd, on Feb. 18, 2007; one son, Kenneth Boyd, on June 7, 2004; one grandson, Floyd Stacey Vincent; and one great-granddaughter, MaKayla Snipes.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Floyd Vincent and Diane and Albert Junior King, all of Riceville; one son and two daughters-in-law, Charles and Helen Boyd of Athens, and Nina Womac Boyd of Riceville; seven granddaughters and their spouses, Tina and Danny Newman, Tanya and Eric Brackner, Angie and Lynn Colbaugh, Fawn and Danny Crass, Dawn and Paul Hadden, Melissa King, Kim and Bill Snipes and Jessica and Billy Lankford; four grandsons and their spouses, Steve and Sheila Boyd, Jimmy and Shelly Boyd, Tracy and Cathy Boyd and Tony and Kathy Vincent; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were 1 p.m. Sunday at Oak Grove Cemetery with Emmitt Morgan officiating.
There was no formal visitation.
