Dottie Mae Wolpers was born on April 5, 1919 in Butler County to the late Albert and Effie Rosetta Shipman Hill, and died Tuesday, January 3, 1995 at the Dexter Memorial Hospital, at the age of 75.

Mrs. Wolpers had been a resident of Dexter most of her life. She had lived for 13 years in Boonville and Bloomfield. She was a retired juvenile officer for the State of Missouri. She was a member of the Mt. Gilead (Hills) General Baptist church near Dexter.

On June 28, 1943 she was married to Erich Louis Wolpers in Dexter. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1980.

Her survivors include one son; Erich Wolpers, Jr. of New Franklin; one daughter, Shelvia J. Ratliff of Dexter; three grandchildren; one sister, Sybil Cravens of Dexter; and other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clifford Hill, Verlin Hill, and Henry Hill; three sisters, Myrtle Allison, Cloa Singleton and Slyvia Hart; and one grandson.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 1995 at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, January 6, 1995 in the Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel of Dexter. The Rev. Chester Smith of Dexter will officiate and burial will follow in the Hill Cemetery near Dexter, with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
